This convoy, part of the Allied Arctic operations, faced brutal weather conditions, frigid seas, and the constant threat of German U-boat and air attacks as they journeyed to supply the Soviet Union on the Eastern Front. The bond between the crew and their faithful companion, Lassie, offered comfort and morale amid the dangers of wartime. The Arctic convoys, though treacherous, were vital in maintaining the Allied supply chain and supporting the fight against Axis forces on multiple fronts.
