Sgt. Allen Desailles Glover, a gunner with the 753rd Bomb Squadron, 458th Bomb Group, completed six missions aboard the B-24 Liberator ‘Big-Time Operator’ (41-29288) before his forced retirement. After earning the Air Medal, Glover admitted to his crew that he was only 16 years old, having lied about his age to enlist. Later, he served during the Korean War, flying in B-26s, where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
