Captain the Hon. Simon Astley Aide-de-Camp, New Delhi 1944

1944, at the Viceroy’s House, New Delhi (Now the Presidential Palace). Captain the Hon. Simon Astley Aide-de-Camp in charge of Transport at Viceroy’s House, being inoculated against fever by the House Surgeon. Captain Astley married the Viceroy’s Daughter Lady Joan Wavell in 1943, but sadly he died just three years later.
