Canadian P/O William ‘Willie’ McKnight DFC & Bar, Duxford Officer’s Mess, September 1940. Douglas Bader’s wingman in No. 242 during the Battle of Britain, and an ace with 17 confirmed kills. Tragically lost over the Channel in his Hurricane on 12th January 1941. Memorialised at Runnymede, Surrey.
