A P-47D-22-RE Thunderbolt 42-25845/G-R3, 410th FS/373rd FG, flies across open country, in late summer 1944. Likely to be based at A-29 Saint. James, Pays-de-la-Loire, France. The aircraft’s distinctive black and white identification “Invasion stripes” have since been painted over with Olive Drab.
